Out of an abundance of caution, and in response to the recommendations from Public Health Officials to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Santa Cruz County Employment & Benefit Services walk-in customer service centers at 18W. Beach St., Watsonville and 1020 Emeline Ave., Santa Cruz are modifying office operations to limit unnecessary Face-to-Face contact. Customers are being asked to conduct all business by phone or electronically. All essential services continue to be provided by phone, online and by mail, while access to the walk-in service centers will be limited, in order to promote social distancing. Nearly all benefit services for Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs, General Assistance are available remotely by mail, phone or online through the following access points:

The My Benefits CalWIN website is a fast and easy way to apply for medical, food. and cash assistance. Visit www.mybenefitscalwin.org and see how easy it is to apply online 24/7 for Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and CalWORKs. Use the My Benfits CalWIN posters to tell your clients about My Benefits CalWIN.
The Phone Customer Services Center has an automated phone system to access information about public assistance programs. People already receiving aid can use the system to access benefit information, request forms, and report changes to their case. Call 1 (888) 421-8080 for public assistance information 24/7. To better support our customers, the County of Santa Cruz Department of Human Services Phone Customer Service Center is changing its hours of operation. Starting Friday, February 1st, 2019, the Phone Customer Service Center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Walk-in hours at 1020 Emeline Ave. Santa Cruz, CA and 18 W. Beach St. Watsonville, CA remain the same, 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday.
We look forward to continuing to serve the public during the new hours of operation.
