CalWORKs Child Care

Am I eligible?

If you are receiving CalWORKs Cash Aid, you may be eligible for child care benefits, if one of the following situations apply:

• You are attending a county Welfare-to-Work approved education or training program.
• You are working and need child care.
• You have transitioned off CalWORKs Cash Aid assistance, but need child care to retain employment.

To assist in determining your eligibility for child care, you will be asked to verify the following:

• Employment
• Child care costs
• Hours and dates of employment, education, or training activity

There are age limits for children receiving child care. Child care providers must meet certain conditions or requirements in order to receive payment for their services.
