About Us

The Human Services Department offers a wide range of programs and services to the Santa Cruz County community. We provide safety net services to meet the basic needs of individuals and families, and to ensure the protection of children, the elderly, and dependent adults. We offer veterans supports and assist those experiencing homelessness to find and better afford housing. We also provide job search assistance and job training opportunities to help job seekers become self-sufficient.

We value helping the people we serve thrive, and our communities grow stronger, by offering the highest quality service to the residents of Santa Cruz County. We strive to treat all people with respect, dignity and fairness. We provide services in Spanish and American Sign Language, with translation available in additional languages.

Serving a Diverse Community
Our mission is to strengthen our diverse community by protecting the vulnerable, promoting self-sufficiency, alleviating poverty and improving the quality of life for all county residents.
