IHSS Public Authority Provider Registry Application

Are you looking for meaningful work helping others in your community?  As a registry provider, we will refer you to IHSS recipients looking for a provider and offer ongoing support in your employment relationship.

Santa Cruz County is currently experiencing a shortage in registry providers.

We have a demand for providers that are:

  • Willing to work in North Santa Cruz County including Capitola and the City of Santa Cruz.
  • Willing to work in the San Lorenzo Valley or Santa Cruz Mountain communities.
  • Experienced in working with high needs clients (care for G-tube, trachea tube, etc.).

Registry Application Process

Prospective registry providers must complete and submit the “IHSS Provider Registry Application” along with at least two professional references.

Upon receipt, a Public Authority Social Worker will:

  • Conduct and in-person interview with the applicant.
  • Conduct reference checks.
  • Determine whether the applicant meets the registry’s requirements.

If accepted onto the registry, providers will be referred to IHSS recipients whose specifics needs and preferences match those of the provider.

Note: The recipient is the employer – not the registry. IHSS recipients are responsible for interviewing, hiring and supervising the provider they chose.
