Employment and Benefit Services Division

Assistance Programs provide benefits to low-income adults and families. Staff work with clients to determine eligibility for assistance and provide referrals for related services.

  • Benefits Call Center serves individuals who are receiving assistance from CalFresh, Medi-Cal, Foster Care, Adoption Assistance, and CalWORKs.
  • CalFresh (Food Stamps) is a federal program that helps low-income people buy food they need for good health and nutrition.
  • CalWORKs Cash Aid assists parents with dependent children in finding employment, job training, skills development and child care costs during work or training hours.
  • CalWORKs Child Care helps eligible families pay for monthly child care as they participate Welfare-to-Work activities.
  • Employment Assistance Welfare-to-Work helps CalWORKs participants find jobs and become self-sufficient.
  • General Assistance is a county-funded loan program, that helps eligible adults meet their basic living needs.
  • Medi-Cal is a state program providing health care benefits to those who qualify. Staff assist individuals and families with Medi-Cal applications.
