COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY PLAN CEDS

Local Santa Cruz County jurisdictions are required to have an approved CEDS plan as a pre-condition of eligibility for Economic Development Administration public works grants and economic adjustment grants. While the CEDS is consistent with existing community economic development vision and goals, the CEDS is not meant to take the place of an individual community's economic development or plan. The CEDS covers a five year period 2020 through 2024. Use the following link to view the Santa Cruz County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Plan.

2017-2020 Four-Year Coastal Regional Plan

Regional Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Plans represent the big picture of a region's economy and workforce environment with a focus on collaborative strategies to be implemented across multiple local areas to attain regional goals and objectives. The Coastal Region Planning Unit includes the workforce development areas of Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. The region's four-year plan (Regional Plan) articulates the Coastal Region's efforts to align education and training provider services with regional industry sector needs as required under the WIOA. The California Workforce Development Board conditionally approved the Regional Plan on June 12, 2017.

2021-2024 Strategic Local Workforce Plan

Local Plans are a subset of the Regional Plan. Local Plans articulate how individuals will access both local and regional services, how those services will be coordinated, resources integrated and how supportive services will be provided to individuals. WIOA requires that both local and regional plans align with the State plan.

The corresponding Santa Cruz County Local Plan (Local Plan) is a four-year action plan to develop, align and integrate service delivery strategies and resources among the WIOA core programs and partners in Santa Cruz County. The access point to both local and regional services is through the America's Job Centers of California (formerly One-Stop Career Centers), with the primary location locally being the Watsonville Career Center. The California Workforce Development Board conditionally approved the Local Plan on May 1, 2017.
